Roller Dance:

Introduction to dancing on roller skates. Learn beginner roller dance moves and how to string moves together into basic choreography. Roller dance will not only improve your confidence and balance on roller skates but also provide foundational skills for more complex choreography. Roller skaters interested in this course should be comfortable with forwards skating, have some skill rolling backwards and balancing/rolling on one foot. Learn to roller skate course is recommended as a prerequisite. Safety gear is recommended.

Intro to Artistic Roller Skating:

Introduction to artistic roller figure skating. Roller skaters will learn edges, footwork, field movements, jumps and spins! Roller skaters interested in this course should be comfortable with forwards skating, have some skill rolling backwards and balancing/rolling on one foot. Learn to roller skate course is recommended as a prerequisite. Safety gear is recommended.

Kids Learn to Skate – Beginner/Intermediate

This class is designed for kids aged 5-13 who have never roller skated before or have limited experience in roller skating. Topics covered start right from the very beginning focusing on fundamental skills and building good roller skating habits. Learn how to fall safely (and how not to fall), stand up on roller skates, duck walk, basic roller skate stride, two foot glide, how to stop, and more. Included are fun drills, exercises and mini games to improve balance, weight transfer and build confidence while on roller skates. Rental skates included in course fee. Full set of safety gear required for kids learn to skate: Helmet, wrist guards, knee and elbow pads all mandatory.

Adult Learn to Skate – Beginner/Intermediate

This class is designed for adults and kids aged 13+ who have never roller skated before or have limited experience in roller skating. Topics covered start right from the very beginning focussing on fundamental skills and building good roller skating habits. Course topics include a full review of beginner skills along with fine tuning to improve the basic skills with an eye to more complex skills. New topics will build upon the fundamentals introduced in the beginner course and more complex skills will be taught. Getting introduced to different styles of roller skating will help refine students interests (roller skate artistic, roller dance, roller derby etc.) and guide them towards improving basic skills and introducing more challenging roller skating moves and forms. Rental skates included in course fee. Full set of safety gear required for kids Intermediate/Advanced learn to skate: Helmet, wrist guards, knee and elbow pads all mandatory.
